10 Essential First Aid Tips

  1. Do CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
CPR is critical in cases of cardiac arrest. Learn the correct chest compression technique to restore breathing and circulation.
  2. Treating Burns
For minor burns, cool the affected area under running water for at least 10 minutes. Avoid using ice as it can damage the skin.
  3. Dealing with Cuts and Wounds
Apply pressure to stop bleeding and clean the wound to prevent infection. Use a sterile bandage to cover the wound.
  4. Handling Fractures
Immobilize the injured area with a splint or any rigid material. Avoid moving the injured limb until professional help arrives.
  5. Managing Choking
Do the Heimlich maneuver by giving abdominal thrusts to clear the airway. Act quickly to prevent suffocation.
  6. Addressing Heatstroke
Move the person to a cool area. Apply cold compresses. Hydrate them at once to lower body temperature.
  7. Responding to a Heart Attack
If someone experiences chest pain, call emergency services. Give aspirin if available. Continue providing care while waiting for professional help.
  8. Dealing with Poisoning
Call a poison control center quickly. Avoid inducing vomiting unless instructed by professionals.
  9. Handling a Seizure
Do not restrain the person. Clear the area of any dangerous objects and stay with them until the seizure passes.
  10. Managing Hypothermia
Move the person to a warm place. Remove any wet clothing. Wrap them in blankets to gradually increase their body temperature.
